We are open from mid September through October 31st!
Albany abounds with political ghosts living and dead. Our tour concentrate on the dead ones but we also include some non-celebrity ghosts as well. Jason, the ghost of the New York State Department of Education Building, still lends a helping hand to neophyte bureaucrats. Learn about Mayor Erastus Corning 2nd most unusual technique of scaring people. Even Abe Lincoln makes a guest appearance. Enjoy some of the most unusual ghosts that any haunted state capital can boast!
Teddy Roosevelt does some haunting now and then as governor of the State of New York.
Who would make a wonderful ghost? Someone who loved to tell ghost stories. And none better than Theodore Roosevelt.
Thanks to all who made us a meaningful success…we could not have achieved the overwhelming positive acclaim and down right fun of ghost tours in Capitaland without your participation and enthusiasm! Fear not…our spirits will “come to life again” next season on April 18 as we take on season two. All discount vouchers from this past 2013 season will be good until June 15.
This was our first season for offering ghost tours so some of the scheduling was…let’s just say, experimental to see what worked well for our guests. Originally the season would have ended on November 9th, but there were requests to extend the season and guests were apparently willing to brave the elements for our tour. This proved to be less than successful…guest where cold and left the tour mid-way…although still appreciative for our heroic efforts (good tips anyway). Despite the unseasonable warmth for some days, extended forecast is cold and winter. We do not wish to turn our guests into ice cubes.
Albany is haunted!
Get the Albany ghost experience with our guides.
Visit one of America’s most haunted locations, Albany, New York. Let us see if we can scare you with stories of ghosts, antique sites, scandalous tales, haunted places, mysterious sightings of apparitions, strange and unusual accounts of centuries past, legendary stories, folklore and ghostly experiences stranger than reality, and ultimately the supernatural intrigues of Albany, New York. Listen to the ghostly encounters of our guides. And you may be surprised by ghost stories told by participants on our tours. Our tales and legends are blended with bits of human interest and historical fact to make us entertaining and educational for all ages.
Ghosts of Albany dedicates itself to exploring the supernatural, paranormal phenomena, the occult manifestations, and the ghostly happenings. We want to give you an experience that has no equal. We want to challenge your mental facilities and powers of observation. If you dare, participate in our trek into the unknown, share your ghostly experiences with others, and ask yourself: Do you believe what you see, hear, smell, and touch? Do you?
We do not attempt to prove the existence of ghosts or to explain the paranormal; you will decide whether to believe – or not. We intend to expand your imagination and present you with a fun evening of rich storytelling and maybe a chill or two. We hope your experience will inspire you to seek out your own stories and share them.
We conduct our tours with great respect for the, “out of body people”. After all they are no different from us – they are merely free of the physical world.
The Ghosts of Albany tour is narrated by passionate experts who like the dark corners; we are a spooky, Hudson waters fueled walk into the unexplained spiritual realm of the most unusual island there is. Our tour gives you the opportunity to explore scandal, glamour, and the supernatural associated with Albany’s citizens past.
Times Union identified our tour as “Top Five Fall Events” in the Capital district!
We can also provide storytelling at your event. We would love to share our experiences/ history/ etc at your gatherings. Contact us for more information.
Prizes for best-dressed costume in October will be awarded on Friday and Sunday night tours!
